Native Plants for Gympie Gardens, Thursday, July 4, 2019

Join ABC Radio gardening presenter, Annette McFarlane, as she profiles some of the best local and hybrid native trees, shrubs, groundcovers and vines for our local gardens.

Do you like the idea of planting native species? Do you want to attract birds, bees and butterflies to your garden? Or perhaps create a private retreat filled with flowers and perfume?

Here’s your chance to find out everything you need to know from a knowledgeable presenter.

Annette McFarlane is a teacher, writer, author and broadcaster, but first and foremost, she is a very hands-on gardener. She was recently awarded the Australian Gold Laurel for Horticulture (2018) and inducted into the Horticultural Media Association Australia Hall of Fame.

If you are a keen gardener yourself you may have bought one of her books  which include Successful Gardening in Warm Climates, Organic Vegetable Gardening, Organic Fruit Growing and Gardening Australia’s Love Your Garden.

Passionate about inspiring others, you can also hear her on ABC Radio Brisbane from 6-7am each Saturday morning for Gardening Talkback, and read her weekly gardening page in the U on Sunday magazine in the Sunday Mail.

She has been dedicated to education in the art and Science of horticulture during the last four decades, and now you have a chance to hear her tips and advice so you can create the native garden you have always wanted but didn’t know how to achieve.
