Visit Gympie Regional Gallery for art, culture & community

illuminated steps leading up to Gympie Regional Gallery

In the heart of Gympie, just a short stroll away from Mary Street’s shops, is a beautiful building full of beautiful creations.

Gympie Regional Gallery is set over 2 levels in the 1905 heritage listed School of Arts Building, designed by architect Hugo Du Rietz.

The Gallery is a Category A rating facility, catering for both major national travelling exhibitions to locally curated exhibitions that highlight the artists and local stories of the region.

They are passionate about promoting the development of the arts as an integral part of the local community, bringing education opportunities, cultural enrichment, economic and social benefits to the entire region.

It presents a dynamic range of exhibitions and public programs tailored to the interests of the community.

Art groups regularly access the Gallery Workshop Space to share, learn and create. Holiday Fun programs for families and children provide a creative opportunity, as well as Art Stars for children, and Project Connect and Zed Zone for youth.

Two annual competitions, the Rush Art Competition and Heritage Art Competition, give artists a platform to present professional artwork.

Another annual event showcases artworks from local secondary schools in the Hi Artworks exhibition.
